Lalage: Insight (16)

A discussion between Bleys and Dara after the battle
Conducted by means of magical messages, a technique known only to the redheads and their allies

Dara: We shouldn't have won.

Bleys: No. Even with the reserves Lalage and I scrounged up, we should have lost. We were aided by the fact that Rinaldo didn't bring all his power to bear, and we did. We won't be able to do this again.

Dara: You saw what she did to Gilva.

Bleys: And you saw what Gilva did to her.

Dara: That's not all.

Bleys: I saw the other, too. Are you going to tell Martin?

Dara: I don't know what to tell him. What do you think?

Bleys: I think he won't hear it from me.

Dara: I think he won't hear it at all.

Bleys: I think you're right.

Yah. That's an Amber conversation all right.
