Maybe it is time to consider closing comments by date.
Just a heads up that I got a comment from another blogger that doesn't quite ring true. Asking what software powers our blog setup. Yet the site seems quite up to speed technically.
Someone with a link fetish trying to improve ping numbers? Don't know.
