Lunchtime Poll 26 :: Weren't?

Ravings of a Textual Deviant » Lunchtime Poll #26: The Way We Weren't

Describe the best game you came up with and never got to run (if you're a GM) or the best game that you were invited to join and never got a chance to play in (if you're a player)?

That for which this blog is also named:
in the Shadow of Greatness
a game of Broken Pattern and PatternFall

This game appeals on a number of levels that most Amber games don't quite touch.

What if less perfect reflections of Amber are actually a bit brighter and robust in terms of unity and pluck? What if Broken Pattern universes actually took that theme to a stronger level where the Family had built up terrific aplomb to the darkness in the immortal soul?

We see adversity in the Family bring it strength in the Zelazny canon. In other myths, we see inherited dysfunction (a la Addams Family) bring a family closer. Dark comic sense of relief and screwball reverance for the material might be explored in this game.

But I don't have time to run it, mon ami.

Tish! You spoke French!
Darling! Please. The readers.
Ah, yes, of course. Later.
