Territory by Emma Bull

Just a call out to those who admire Roger Zelazny stylings of myth.

Territory (2007) by Emma Bull is the best sort of way to spend Thanksgiving. A book that warms the soul and feeds a spirit that often goes lacking. I might tell you that it is a western or I might say that it is a romance. I could hint of dark deeds or hard choices told.

I will give the story my highest recommendation even as I warn you that there will be more to this story. I wait knowing I'll be parched until it comes.

That was on the "we can't buy that, we're moving!" list. We'll get it in Austin. Glad to hear it's recommended.

I read it as a "recovering from surgery" book, and was not disappointed. It would probably even improve (if possible!) on a re-read when I'm not doubled over in pain, but it did distract me and help me ignore/subvert the agony during that time.
