In line with their photo organization program, and desktop, now Google apparently has a "explore the Earth" software called Google Earth. While the heavy duty versions cost $, the basic version is, apparently free.
My PC doesn't have the horsepower to run it. Maybe my next one...or maybe one of my readers will try it and give me news on how well it actually works.
That's cool. I think it's built off the same information as their maps, except that it shows my current house under construction and my old house without the shed... so the information isn't particularly current. Very useful for poking around and seeing what sorts of things there are in a place, unless you're looking at places like Quito, St. Lucia, the Galapagos....
