Josephine Arnaldo, otherwise known as 'Josie' to her friends has recently set up shop in Amber. She is a recently retired Knight of the Black Rose (which was disbanded by Royal Edict earlier last month).
She is calling her enterprise a 'private investigations agency' whatever that means and claims that she will 'help the helpless' in Amber. This reporter can only claim to be intrigued about what this could possibly mean.
She is being joined in this enterprise by Gregory Karm (also a young priest who has recently renounced his vows due to a 'crisis of faith') and his brother, Roderic Karm - also an Ex-Knight of the Black Rose.
This reporter thinks this is worth mentioning not only because of the unusual propostion put forward by this new business, but because she has found out the funding comes directly from Lord Gerard. What is our most beloved Royal up to now?
The Archbishop sadly acknowledged that the church has lost this young priest. He stated in a formal acknowledgement that Stephen has been called to other duties by the Unicorn.
The Archbishop went on to state that the crisis this young priest precipitated had been coming for a long time, and it took a young man of great courage to call it forth so it could be tackled. He said that Stephen's decision to renounce his vows as a priest was in no way because of the crisis he precipitated.
The Archbishop hinted that Castle Amber will soon be putting out its own official statement, leading many to suspect that the rumors of Stephen's parentage are true, and that Stephen is of Royal blood, perhaps even an illegitimate son of King Random himself.
Watch this space for any further developments, as they occur!
The newly elected and installed Archbishop, Nicolai Karm, has formally acknowledged the split within the Bishop's Council and branded the Bishops of Venetia and their supporters heretics, an anaethma to the one true Church of the Unicorn in Amber.
The Archbishop has stopped short of excommunicating them (so far), and has pleaded with them publicly to repent of their ways and return once again to their true spiritual home.
Keldan Bayle recently married Diane Henden in a wedding performed by Stephen, Priest of the Unicorn, - yes, the same young Priest who recently caused such a crisis within the Church of the Unicorn and the split in the Bishop's Council.
The wedding of Keldan and Diane was arranged after her pre-arranged marriage to a Kashfan noble fell apart, after the young nobleman's reputation was sullied by an unfortunate incident in a local park in Kashfa. What exactly he was doing in the bushes does not bear going into in any detail - but can easily be found out by talking to anyone on the streets of Amber! They are still laughing about it.
What might have been a disaster has worked to the good fortune of Diane Henden in the end as Keldan Bayle is well-known to have been Diane's first choice for a husband before her marriage was arranged by her family. The wedding attracted the young nobility and younger members of the Royal Family and was patronized by Corwin's newly arrived younger sister, Marta.
Although there are no signs of thawing relations between Keldan and his Father, the Henden's have delightedly welcomed Keldan into their midst - very relieved not to have the stigma of the Kashfan incident hanging over their daughter. Diane's father is even financing a house for the two newlyweds in Amber, in conjunction with Lady Marta.
Meanwhile Keldan's latest architectural project is proceeding with great alacrity. He is in charge of building the new Chapel of the Unicorn on the heights of Sunset Boulevard which will be dedicated to the honor of Princess Deirdre. Lord Corwin is said to be very pleased with the work, so far, and is a frequent visitor to the site.
Congratulations to Lord and Lady Bayle!
