Conflict
Each attribute is a realm for dramatic conflict.
Technology challenges are solved through Gear. Physical challenges are solved through Body. Mental challenges are solved through Mind. Followers of the Force can challenge each other with their mastery of the Force. They can also use the Force on average humans to great effect.
High score wins an action. Specialties add one to Attribute score. Some situations may allow Force rank to be added to Expert Specialty rank. Expert Specialties and Advantages will be considered in tie scores.
In case of tie score, GM will review dramatic advantage in situation and rule a winning action or stalemate. Rule of thumb for 'kill attempts' (regards close ranks if winner intends to kill) is: three rounds of losing action. Ranks separated by two (3 versus 1; 5 versus 2) are not considered close.
Note, ranks double dramatic effectiveness: two 3 ranks are equal to a 4 rank. Three 3 ranks are not equal to a 5 rank. Four 3 ranks are equal to a 5 rank. A group of eight 2 ranks attacking a 5 rank would have position difficulties unless missile weapons were used.
