The Force in canon

Of course, the Star Wars universe is about a lot of swashbuckling frontier monks bringing law and order to the planets with the Force.

From wikipedia:

"Two aspects of the Force are given emphasis: the light side and the dark side. These are concerned with the moral compass of the Force in its various manifestations. The light side of the Force is its elegance and beauty. The dark side of the Force is the element aligned with fear, hatred, aggression, and malevolence; this side of the Force seems more powerful, though it is just more tempting to those that can touch upon the power as it doesn't impose any restrictions on its use."

In our game, our P Cs are masters of the Dark Side. The ancient code is this:
Peace is a lie; there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

While Luke Skywalker follows the Jedi code:
There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no chaos; there is harmony.
There is no death; there is the force.

Normal use of the Force is similar to 'hearing'. You hear many things every day but listen to a few of significance. In order to hear important details, you may need more focus or more experience to hear exactly what it is you are looking for. In the midst of crisis, you might even mishear something important.

Jedi seek to focus their response to the Force to gain peace and harmony. Respect for life is an important observance to Jedi. Jedi will maim others defending themselves but rarely kill.

Sith seek to focus their response to the Force to gain power and freedom. Passion for personal gain is significant. Sith will cause fear, anger and suffering to achieve victory.
