Defining Moments

Hunter/Survivor

Born to Morellian parents, Derick and Laela, hunters both, travelling the planets honing their skills and bringing there son up to be self-sufficient and a survivor. Lost both his parents in a tropical storm on the planet Dagobah, his mother died saving his life, he was ten at the time. Jager became obsessed with honouring his parents memory by becoming a great hunter. By 18, he was a sought after expert Hunter and Tracker.

At 22 was approached to return to Dagobah, by Jedi Knight Veja Mennen who was seeking to investigate a small Sith cult that was rumoured to be building a secret base upon the planet. During the ensuing treck on planet, Veja sensed Jager's affinity for the force and his unconcious use of it to guide him and alert him to danger. During the investigation, Veja found what he sought, but the ensuing struggle left Jager blinded by a blaster shot meant for Veja after Jager jumped in the way.

Jedi Beginnings

Jager was embittered by his blindness. So, Veja took it upon himself to show Jager that he could still be self-sufficient and a part of the Universe, even though his eyesight was gone. Veja's favourite saying to Jager. “Now that you are blind, you can truly see.” Before Veja made any attempt to train Jager in the Force, he forced him to use his other senses to compensate for his loss, he helped Jager to overcome his feelings of helplessness and self-pity. And then Veja opened Jager's “eyes” to the Force. He taught him to “see” using the Force and thus began his apprenticeship.

Jager's affinity for weapons gave him an edge, when he began his training with the light-sabre. His natural aptitude for the Force and his tendency to consider a weapon as a part of himself, caused him to advance quickly under his new Master's tutelage.

Veja Mennen was an unusual Jedi Knight, he had never before taken an apprentice, when asked why by the Masters. He would often say. “I must hear the silence, before I can speak the word.” So, his taking of Jager as his apprentice came as a shock to the council, for two reasons, the aforementioned he had never before taken one and the second, that he chose one who was not brought up within the Jedi way.

Jager had a hard time adjusting to the constantly calm and controlled environment of the Jedi, not because he couldn't control his own emotions, but because the contemplative life left him little time to fulfill his passion for the hunt. Many of the Jedi Masters felt that Jager had a dark core of emotion, held at bay, but dangerous none the less and that his passion for hunting was a hindrance to his further training. They felt he should divest himself of all such feelings,
but his Master said he would be invaluable in the days to come against the Sith.

Let the Hunt Begin

And so he became a Jedi Knight; a hunter of those who turned from the light to the darkness, and so for a time, his Master was proven right. His passion for the hunt coupled with his Jedi training proved his value to the Jedi Order. He became renowned for his ability to hunt down and kill the Sith, as they would come to be known.

Then the Darkness Crept in

Then came the slow fall into the Dark Side, like so many tragedies, this one began with a betrayal. During a battle with several Sith. His companions Jedi Knight Karn Lotar, Jedi Knight Dimn Wellm and his Jedi Apprentice Jhere Misolta fought by his side, until Jhere Misolta cut down his master and joined the side of the Sith. At the end of the battle as Jager cut down Jhere Misolta after a hard fought duel, his passion fueled by the betrayal, the Jedi arrived to see it. They moved to attack the supposed betrayer. Jager did the only thing he could do, he escaped.

Hunter Hunted

With the Hunter hunted, Jager made several attempts to contact Master Veja, always one step ahead of those who followed after. He finally arranged a secret meeting with his master to bring him in to tell the Jedi his story. This is the turning point, sometimes the Force converges upon a point, these are the moments that shape who you are. When the meeting between Master Veja and Jager begins. Master Bindo arrives and during the ensuing duel kills Veja. His apprentices arrive and Bindo offers Jager a choice, join us and be protected or be hunted down and killed by those he used to serve, for his apparent betrayal of his Master.

Within the Darkness

At first, Jager joined the Sith to later betray the Sith Lord, but the Hatred deep in his heart for his new Master was simply his first step into the Darkness.
