Incredibly busy.
See, I took over GMing this game... and something had to suffer. That something was this blog.
But I have to get my life in order, or I'm not going to make it. Things have been turning upside down in my life the last few months. My school decided since we don't have enough students left in the accounting program to justify a classroom, we have to be flexnet. This means 3 of 5 weeks on the internet. It means, basically, having to be online EVERY DAY to get full credit.
I don't have a problem being online every day. I practically am now. But I do have a problem because my dialup ain't gonna cut it - and my slow old laptop isn't going to cut it for DSL. So I have to get DSL or cable - and I have to get a new laptop. While we're making this investment, I want us to be wireless, and I want to buy a gaming computer for Jeff.
I saw something in tiger direct that claimed to be a gaming CPU for $400. We could do that - it can't be worse than what he's using now.
But I need advice - lots of advice - about what I should get, what I shouldn't get, and so on.
Also trying the flylady 15 minute cleaning thing. We're off to a slow start, and we're changing how it works to fit us... but we haven't had any dish in my sink for 2 weeks now, and that is the biggest deal ever. So thanks to LL for that advice.
Oh, and we're seeing Harry Potter at Star Southfield on June 4 at 7pm. I'm not buying tickets for everyone, but wanted to invite all who are interested to get their own and meet us there!
Posted by Liz at May 25, 2004 5:11 PMI can recommend 'refurbished' laptops from Dell. They are returned to Dell, checked, and then discounted on separate web pages on an irregular basis.
IOW, you buy what they have on a shelf, configured as they have it.
But good prices on good machines.
Posted by: Arref at May 25, 2004 5:15 PMIf I can remember to, I can get you the specs on my machine... it's 8 months old now and likely there are similar machines in their refurbished section. (They tend to have lots of machines there) I know you were impressed with my Dell... I would definately recommend the wireless, but you knew that! *grin*
Posted by: jenn at May 25, 2004 7:56 PMI'd be happy to help you, Liz. Just holler on AIM next time you see me, and we can talk. Or, if you want, we could have you over for dinner or we can talk at the gaming thing next month.
