Reading List

Read:

1) Hacking Gmail by Ben Hammersley (a little over my head in most places, but even the little things I picked up were worth it.)

2) The Courtesan by Julian Justiss (the first romance novel I've ever seen with a woman with a sword on the cover - sure it's not the first ever, but first for me.)

3) Growing Season: Life Lessons from the Garden by Arlene Bernstein (this one is going to Jenn.)

4) Prince of Danger by Amanda Scott

5) House Poor: Pumped-up Princes, Rising Rates, and Mortgages on Steroids by June Fletcher (while I think we'll be okay when the bubble bursts, the patterns and consequences intrigue me. The section on percent returns on remodels was especially helpful in making me understand I should not remodel unless I'm doing it for me.)

6) Lord John and The Private Matter by Diana Gabaldon. (Thanks to Carla for introducing me to her work when we first met, years ago now. Maybe a little bit of sympathy for John. Diana's characters are imperfect in a very real sort of way.)

Just got a bunch of American Indian books from Jenn - don't know exactly where I'm going next. Already reading Great Speeches of Native Americans or Speeches of Great Native Americans or something like that. They were orators, of course, so really good at it - and you can see that in the ones people bothered to write down.
